Rajasthan government is keen to incentivize Aircraft MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) Industry to develop in the state. Currently, Rajasthan state has over 32 airstrips of which 19 of them are state owned and private barring the defence air strips which could be used for setting up MRO centres.
Some of the airstrips like Jhalawar are big and can handle wide body aircrafts as well. The state government is looking at it as an opportunity for employment but help in providing training to students of aeronautic engineering.
